Kasun is sitting his A/Ls this year and wants extra help with Combined Mathematics. He starts by clicking Mentors in the main menu — this opens the Instructors directory, where every approved mentor on the platform is listed.

“From here, narrow things down step by step. First pick a category — School, Academic/Professional, or Corporate. Kasun picks School, since he’s looking for A/L-level help. Then use the Subjects dropdown and choose Mathematics (Combined). As each filter is applied, the list of instructors updates immediately, and the count at the top tells you how many mentors match.”

With category and subject both set, the directory narrows all the way down to one mentor: Priya Wijeratne, a Mathematics and Science tutor with 5–10 years of experience. Her card shows her teaching languages, subjects, and grades at a glance, so Kasun can confirm she’s a fit before clicking any further.

Clicking View Profile takes Kasun to Priya’s full instructor page — her bio, rating, and every course she’s published. He finds “A/L Combined Mathematics – Complete Course” and clicks through to its course page.

“The course page works like a shop listing: title, category, and instructor at the top, a full description and content outline in the middle, and a pricing box on the right — this course is Free, so it’s a single click to get in. Paid courses show a price here instead, with an Add to Cart or Buy Now button that takes you through checkout.”

Kasun clicks Enroll Now. The page reloads and the pricing box is instantly replaced with a Course Progress tracker showing 0 of 2 completed — he’s enrolled, and the course content is now unlocked for him.

From the course page, Kasun opens the first lesson — “Lesson 1.1: Arithmetic & Geometric Progressions” — under Topic 1: Algebra & Series. This switches to the course player: a left-hand sidebar listing every topic and lesson, with the lesson content itself on the right.

“Read through the lesson, and when you’re done, click Mark as Complete at the top. Your progress bar updates immediately — Kasun goes from 0 of 2 to 1 of 2, 50% — and the player automatically moves you on to the next item in the topic, which in this case is the quiz.”

The player lands on “Quiz 1: Sequences & Series” and shows the basics before anything starts — 1 question, up to 10 attempts, and an 80% passing grade. Kasun clicks Start Quiz.

“This quiz has one multiple-choice question: ‘The 5th term of the sequence 3, 7, 11, 15, … is:’ with two options, 17 and 19. Working from the lesson he just read — the sequence adds 4 each time — Kasun selects 19 and clicks Submit Quiz.”

The quiz grades instantly. Because it’s above the 80% passing grade, the course player marks the quiz complete too — Kasun’s progress jumps to 2 of 2, 100% — and he’s dropped back on the course page with a View Certificate button and a prompt to rate the course.

Course content isn’t the only thing waiting for Kasun — Priya has also booked a live Zoom class linked to this course. To see it, Kasun opens Student Live Sessions from the left sidebar, available anywhere on the site once you’re logged in.

“This page lists every upcoming class from courses you’re enrolled in — the date and time, duration, which course it belongs to, the instructor’s name, and which room it’s assigned to. A countdown shows exactly how long until the class starts. The Enter Class button stays disabled with a note — ‘Available once instructor starts the class’ — right up until Priya actually starts the session, at which point it lights up and takes Kasun straight into the live room.”
